Nude Drawings, Paintings and Fantasy Art

This is art I do for me. They may be drawings, or paintings, or simple gesture images. I love the human body. To me, it is a beautiful work of art in itself. It is fascinating how it is all put together; curves, creases, chiseled, soft, it's all different yet all in a similar way. I love it, am fascinated by it, and I love to draw it. I call her "Empress". The is guarded by tigers high in the mountains, and you have walked into her bedroom. Beware! Oil on canvas.

"Dia de Los Muertos". This was a commission piece and the only instruction I was given was "Dia de Los Muertos". The skull pipe belongs to the person who commissioned the painting. Much thought and time went into this one. What is she doing here while there is obviously a party going on? There are two pipes. One is still smoking as if recently used. Who used it? Let your mind wander and ponder.

This was my homage to Frank Frazetta after his death, who is a large part of why I (and many many other artists) am an artist. It is not very good, but I am not Frank, but it is here. Oil on canvas.

This pose has always appealed to me. I envisioned her as a sleeping faerie, tiny and pretty. Oil on canvas

Yes, I used this pose in a painting, but this was done in preparation for that. I call it "Sapphire Necklace". Pastel on paper

I call this "Wishing". I have always loved what I call a "pretzel pose". There are so many angles, foreshortening, positive and negative shapes, everything is here that I love. Pastel on paper

This is "Irena, Dance of Light". She is a ballerina and a beautiful model with a dancers toned body. These were a study of muscular structure. Charcoal on paper.

This pose seemed as if the model was releasing or holding something. I pictured her as "Eve" of the biblical story, releasing the snake after speaking with it. I simply call it "Release". Charcoal on paper.

The above drawings were quick pen and inks, almost gestural drawings, done in a live session where you have to draw fast! I love the energy of pen and ink done quickly.

"Koi Surprise" is also a Faerie, but on a lily pad. This baby koi was interested in what she is doing. This is done in Conte on paper.

This is a good friend of mine. I asked her to imagine holding an egg. She is a part bird, part human. Is the egg hers? I call it "Embryo", graphite on paper.

Not all models are thin and athletic. This is a real woman with a real woman's body. What is she thinking about? Graphite on paper.
